Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. When she was just five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled at her first Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma knew she would like to be an actress and for several years, she studied at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught singing dancing and acting. In a school play and a Stagecoach show, she was as the lead role at age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's first appearance in a film was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film beat all previous records for opening day and weekend revenues, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performance by three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British paper, praised her for her performance. Then Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film winning the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in an feature Film.
